Chor Mui Ling 

Chor Mui Ling (b.1969, Singapore)

Mui Ling graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with a Diploma in Fine Art in 1991. Since graduation, she taught art on a part-time basis in various pre-school centers, primary schools and was course-coordinator at Gradsign Art School from 1992 to 2007. She currently teaches part-time in the Junior Art Department at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Art. She received her Certificate in Ceramic from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2014.

 

Mui Ling never fail to find joy watching a lump of clay slowing spinning into shape. It brought back memories of those carefree and happy childhood days while playing in the field. Each of us have in our heart a happy bear. It is cheerful, pure, playful, with an intense curiosity of a child tirelessly exploring everything around it. She thoroughly enjoyed the various stages working with clay, from wheel throwing to glaze firing. The anticipations and excitement before and after opening the door of the kiln after a firing, constantly remind her that happiness always comes in small packages of both failures and successes.
